Protection for what the unexpected brings

Pacific Northwest weather has a way of surprising people — a windstorm takes out a tree, a pipe freezes during a cold snap, or a kitchen fire turns a normal evening upside down. We'll help you build a home insurance policy that covers the events most likely to affect your home, and we'll be there to walk you through claims if something does happen.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does homeowners insurance cover earthquake damage?
No. Earthquake is excluded from every standard Washington homeowners policy. Given that the Pacific Northwest sits on the Cascadia subduction zone, this is worth a separate conversation — earthquake coverage is available as a separate policy, and we can walk you through whether it makes sense for your situation.
Does my policy cover wind and tree damage?
Yes. Wind damage and damage from falling trees are typically covered under a standard Washington homeowners policy — including damage from your own trees as well as a neighbor's. We'll walk you through how your specific policy handles wind events.
How much home insurance do I need?
Enough to fully rebuild your home at current construction costs — not what you paid for it or what it's worth on the market. Pacific Northwest construction costs have climbed sharply in recent years, and underinsured homes are one of the most common surprises after a loss. We review replacement cost annually to keep your coverage in step.
What's NOT covered by a standard home policy?
Earthquake, flood, routine wear and tear, pest damage, mold from long-term leaks, and business activity run out of the home are the most common exclusions. Some of these can be added with an endorsement or a separate policy.
How does the claims process work?
Call us first, before you call the carrier. We help document the damage, file the claim, and advocate for you if the carrier's initial offer doesn't match what you're owed. For most clients, having a local agent in the loop means faster, cleaner claims.
